Review: Nakatomi Plaza

Nakatomi Plaza
“Private Property”
(Immigrant Sun Records)

Too many styles. Too many influences. Too many ideas. Overly schizophrenic indie-punk-rock-pop with girl, girl/guy, guy vocals and start/stop screamo parts, melodic emo parts, speedy punk parts and dissonant indie rock parts. This wants to be better, it just suffers from indecisiveness. The best parts are the driving instro parts between the punked up screams or the awkward singing. And awkward is an understatement. Unbearable is accurate. Actually, without the vocals, this would be really good. Yawn.
